The star then carried on with the show without missing a beat, winning plaudits from fans for her composure. Shortly after the incident, at the TIDAL X: 1015 benefit concert at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, the terms #CutForBeyonce and #BleedForBeyonce started trending on Twitter, with some tweets using the hashtag accompanied by gory images of apparent self-harming. However, the vast majority of images are clearly faked and, despite some media reports to the contrary, there is no evidence that any Beyonce fans have been cutting themselves in solidarity with the singer. The tweets that caused the hashtags to trend were predominantly either using the terms in jest (both have been in use for several years among fans, in tongue-in-cheek fashion), or expressing concern or disbelief over the possibility that fans might be self-harming.
